Farley here,
When Kristina was the director of security at a ski resort, and I was just a young pup, I got to go to work with her.
Tell me I wasn’t the cutest…That’s Kristina’s foot in the black boot on the left. I don’t remember who is wearing the white shoes, but I’m sure I was nice to him/her.

Here are my top 5 reasons why dogs should be welcome at work
- Stress relief – it’s been proven blood pressure goes down when you pet a dog
- Good for morale – a dog is happy to see you every time you enter the office
- Facilitating team work – joint care of an animal brings people together
- Healthy lifestyle – the lunch time walk.
- Workplace safety – it’s hard to be angry when the cutest dog ever is wagging its tail at you.
So why wouldn’t you want a dog at work?
I loved going to the office, hanging out, letting everyone who walked by pat my head.
Woof Woof

We are fortunate to have a “dog friendly” TD Canada Trust Bank well within Ray’s walking range and they certainly love to see him (and no doubt many other dogs). However, I went in without him the other day……… and got moaned at because the lack of a Ray!
Whereas I suspect they do not allow their staff to bring dogs in, it certainly does make for a relaxing and fun atmosphere when a dog is around! 🙂

Kristina was also the director of human resources at the time so she set the policy. All the dogs love her. Woof Woof.

You are so right Farley! I hear in Japan they have an office dog to help with moral. People need us so much! A dog is good for your soul

Allie, make an easy policy. All you have to say is dogs are welcome if they behave. Everyone knows what that means. I know I can’t bark, jump on people, fight with other dogs. But being cute and cuddly is very acceptable. Good luck.

I wonder if employees at animal shelters take their pets to work. I know some pet shop owners do.

I think dogs should be allowed in all workplaces. How much better would life be? A lot I think.
